Documentation

Release forms and candidate documents.

Signed release forms and authorization records are part of a clean employment screening workflow. Handle them carefully and use secure channels whenever sensitive information is involved.

What to keep with the order

  • Signed disclosure and authorization forms required by your workflow.
  • State-specific notices or investigative consumer report disclosures when applicable.
  • Role-specific releases for education, employment, license, driving, or other verification sources.

How to submit documents

Use the secure upload or account-support path available to your account. If you do not see an upload option in the dashboard, contact support before sending sensitive candidate documents by email.

Do not send SSNs, dates of birth, identity documents, or signed releases through an unverified channel. When in doubt, call Information Direct support first.

Quality check before fulfillment

  • Make sure candidate names match across the order and release.
  • Check that signatures and dates are present where required.
  • Confirm the employer/requester name is correct.
  • Attach only documents needed for the requested search.
